Well, a few days have passed in a blur so I am behind again. On our last day in Beblenheim we toured little wine villages, again it was very hot but loved that blue sky and little gondola ride in the river helped. The have a bridge called Liberty Bridge built by America during WWII.
Our apartment had these 4 beautiful season scenes of winemaking dishes on display. I always love things like that – they look very old and precious. Robert took one down to check the information on the back and we found out they were plastic made to look old—oh well—I loved the subject matter—four seasons of wine making. The last one made me think of Susanne dying her wool!!
The next day we left Beblenheim and drove to the French National Car Museum in Mulhouse. More from Robert on that but my faves are the old Renault and his handsome nose. Also, the REAL old Paris Street light to walk through looking at the cars. Just amazing that two brothers collected all of these things. We were there at the museum many years ago when it first opened and very fine changes and additions have been made. It was VERY hot that day and the line to get in was huge and they had “ONE” person selling tickets??? Truly amazing. Luckily we were right near the beginning of the line. I had to leave with the Bugatti socks since the Bugatti’s are what this collection is famous for!!
We love our house in Noyers sur Serein as always. Have few pics of Robert in his keep and picking plums in the backyard. The plums are perfect right now. Also my boar—just think he is great, if you were following last year you probably saw him then too. Yesterday we went to see a Chateaux D’Ancy le Franc. Wonderful few hours spent there, again Robert will have pics. A few asides—temps have been between 26-33*C—so toasty!! Also, mozzies have been bad and they love me so…..
Well, that is all for right now. Anne
OOPS a PS!! This AM we went to the village market. We went into an art exhibition and guess what we came out with?? A water color by a local artist of Noyes. It is one of the towers of the old wall since this is a walled city. Just fell in love at first sight. He came into town this afternoon to meet us so I got his picture holding the painting!!
